Recruitment is often just one part of a manager’s job.
Alongside finding the right person, you may already be running a team, dealing with customers, attending meetings, managing budgets and trying to keep the rest of the business moving.
The last thing you need is a pile of unsuitable CVs, constant chasing or candidates who have not properly understood the role.
Our job is to make that process easier.
We take the time to understand the position, the business, the team and the type of person who is likely to succeed within it.
Then, we handle the search, approach relevant people, conduct detailed conversations and introduce candidates who have been carefully considered.
That means you spend less time reviewing unsuitable applications and more time speaking with people who have a genuine reason to be in the conversation.
Recruitment does not become more effective by hiring more agencies, to receive more CVs. In principle, it does, but in practice it does not!
A crowded inbox is not a shortlist.
It is simply more work.
Our aim is to introduce a carefully considered group of people who have the experience, motivation and genuine interest to make the conversation worthwhile.
You may receive fewer CVs from me than you would from a large agency.
That is intentional.
Every introduction should have a reason behind it.
Every candidate should understand the opportunity.
Every conversation should move the search forward.
Some of the strongest candidates are not actively looking for work.
They are performing well, valued by their employer and unlikely to spend their evenings scrolling through job boards.
They will not necessarily apply to an advert.
They may, however, listen to the right person presenting the right opportunity in the right way.
That is where headhunting becomes valuable.
Over the years, I have built an extensive network across the industry, including a LinkedIn community of nearly 40,000 people.
The number is impressive, but the relationships behind it are what truly matter.
I have built relationships with people at every stage of their careers, from those taking their first step into management to senior leaders shaping national businesses.
Some initially came to me as candidates.
Some became clients.
Some both.
Others simply stayed in touch because we had a good conversation and respected one another.
That is the network behind Evolution.
It has not been created through automated messages, endless cold calls or collecting names for the sake of making a database larger.
It has been built one conversation at a time.
Experience matters, but it is rarely the whole story.
A CV cannot fully explain someone’s personality, motivations, communication style or why they are considering a move.
That understanding comes through conversation.
Many of the strongest candidates are not actively searching job boards or submitting applications. They may be settled, successful and only willing to consider an opportunity when the right conversation comes along.
The aim is not simply to find someone who can do the job.
It is to identify those people, approach them properly and give them a genuine reason to listen.
And when you ask me to recruit for your business, that entire network, combined with my experience, judgement and personal commitment, becomes part of your search.
Whether you have an urgent vacancy, a difficult position to fill or simply need an honest conversation about the market, I am happy to listen.
You do not need to have the perfect job description or every detail finalised before getting in touch.
We can start with where you are, what is causing the problem and what a successful appointment would mean for your business.
Let’s have a conversation and take some of the pressure out of your next hire.
